Emily + Graham’s Isle of Hope and Thompson Savannah wedding was planned by Tara Skinner Events and photographed by Eliza Morrill.

I couldn’t imagine a better way to wrap up an incredible year than with Emily + Graham’s timeless backyard wedding in Savannah, GA. 

Upon arriving at Emily’s childhood home, a stunning 1800s Victorian nestled among ancient oaks with a stunning view of the river, I couldn’t help but think of one of my favorite movies, Father of the Bride.

The day began by popping champagne on the front porch before Emily slipped into her dress and joined her bridesmaids, each wearing a floral blue and white gown of their own choosing to highlight their own unique personalities for bridal portraits. 

Graham made quite the entrance, arriving via boat with his groomsmen in tow, before sharing a touching first look with Emily. 

After wedding party photos, we tucked Emily away and waited for guests to arrive. Graham and his siblings perched on the second floor porch to get a good view of their friends and family making their way up the brick path.

Loved ones gathered in the backyard of the Knopf home to witness the joyful interfaith ceremony, performed by a close friend of the bride and groom, Will Dillard. 

After the ceremony, guests were transported to The Thompson Hotel’s riverfront lawn for cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres. Next, Graham and Emily snuck away for a few sunset photos before inviting everyone to join them for their first dance while Graham’s cousins, Robert and Anthony gave a moving performance of Niel Young’s Harvest Moon. 

Tara Skinner Events created an elegant blue and white setting for the one-of-a-kind reception. The clear-topped tent overlooked the Savannah River and featured custom bars, a gorgeous floral arched entryway by Harvey Designs, and cozy sitting areas, setting the tone for a fun-filled night. Guests were served a seated dinner before InfinteSoul took the stage so the party could begin. 

Emily and Graham celebrated with dancing and singing, including the traditional hora dance in recognition of Graham’s Jewish faith. 

As the night came to a close, the couple exited through a sparkler lit tunnel and heartfelt congratulations, prior to driving away in Graham’s fathers vintage Pontiac.
