Big Eddy Club Wedding // Georgia Wedding Photographer – Caroline + Warner

There are some weddings that I just can’t wait to get home and edit (well, honestly– I feel this way about all of the weddings I photograph!) but this one, especially so. Caroline + Warner’s Big Eddy Club wedding was, simply put: stunning. Patti of P. Hasting Design coordinated each detail so well and the result was truly phenomenal.

All week, the forecast called for rain. Not light rain. Not even scattered rain showers. No, it called for severe thunderstorms and up to an inch of rain. 30 days before the wedding, Caroline buried a bottle of bourbon outside of the Big Eddy Club in hopes that the sun might shine on her big day.

When I woke up on Saturday morning, I watched the hourly forecast like a hawk. Rain. All day. Not a ray of sunshine in sight. I packed up my rain gear and prepared for a wet day of strategic shooting– but no!

By the time we arrived at the Illges House, where the girls were getting ready, the rain began to let up. As Caroline slipped into her dress, the sprinkles had stopped. And just before she put on her veil– the sun shined through. How’s that for prayer and burying bourbon!?

The morning was full of laughter and excitement as Caroline and her girls popped champagne and chatted.

Caroline’s sweet mom buttoned her into her dress while her sisters helped fluff. One of my favorite parts of the morning was Caroline’s bridesmaids’ reaction to seeing their girl for the first time– it was precious! They were overjoyed for her and it really showed.

After photographing the girls in the yard of the Illges House, Caroline’s soon-to-be father in law caught a glimpse of her in the hallway and had THE sweetest and most genuine reaction to seeing her! I think everyone who caught it teared up just a little.

Caroline + Warner shared a first look on the Illges House walkway as everyone watched from the windows– I loved seeing Neely’s (her dear friend and now sister in law!) reaction the most. It was so sweet!

The wedding party (including the cutest little flower girls) joined us for photos before heading to St. Luke UMC for the ceremony.

Caroline’s bridesmaids prayed over her before she walked to the ceremony, and it was such a beautiful moment. Caroline’s dad and step dad walked her down the aisle and gave her away. When the pastor asked who presented the bride, they said, “we do!”

Caroline + Warner exchanged vows before sealing it with a kiss.

Then, the party began!

The Big Eddy Club was exquisitely decorated by David Benefield of Highland Hall. Guests passed under a beautiful floral arch before entering the reception. Floral chandeliers, sterling candelabras, and monogrammed everything filled the venue!

A gorgeous clear tent sat in the yard, adorned with lights and its own floral chandelier. Guests enjoyed cuban sandwiches and specialty cocktails before Caroline + Warner shared their first dances. Let me tell you– Warner can DANCE!

One of my favorite parts of the evening was sunset photos. The Big Eddy Club is one of my favorite wedding venues for sunset photos, because the light down by the water is unmatched. The whole time I edited the photos, I kept asking myself… does Caroline look like Megan Fox, or a brunette Taylor Swift!? I mean seriously… the girl is stunning!

Guests danced the night away to Mr. Potato Head (SO GOOD!) and were escorted out of the venue by a bagpiper, playing Scotland the Brave. Caroline + Warner made their getaway through a tunnel of flowers as guests showered them with lavendar.

Truly, it was the perfect Southern wedding!
