Oh gosh– where do I even begin? I knew from the moment I met Sunny + Susan at their engagement session that they were my kind of people because they are fun, down-to-earth, and crazy in love. They’re effortlessly beautiful, as well, which is just icing on the cake. Add a stellar bridal party, vendor team, and venue to the mix, and their Foxhall Resort wedding at Legacy Lookout was truly exceptional.
It was their vows, though, that really got me. Exchanged overlooking the fields as the sun set, surrounded by friends and family, Sunny said to Susan the two words he most often hears her say: “thank you”– thank you for agreeing to be his wife and making him a better man. Susan spoke of how Sunny is the true reflection of his name– “sunny like the weather,” and I don’t believe that there was a dry eye on that mountain. As they shared their first communion as husband and wife, with THE MOST AMAZING band singing “Holy Spirit” behind them– I cried. like. a. baby. It was wonderful.
After the ceremony, we rushed together with cameras and flowers to the aforementioned fields just as the sun dipped below the trees (thank you, Sunny, for taking your car off-roading in the name of photos!) and captured some of my favorite photographs to date.
At the reception, Sun in My Belly + Cecilia’s Cakes awaited– two of my very favorite culinary establishments– while guests danced inside to the Peace, Love, and Happiness Band while folks outside roasted s’mores under stringed lights. At the end of the night, Sunny + Susan ran through a tunnel of sparklers before jetting off to Californ-i-a. In a word, it was perfect.
Sunny + Susan, thank you SO MUCH for inviting me to share in your day. Cheers to a lifetime of bliss!
