It’s been a while (years!) since I regularly photographed family sessions, and goodness, the Sturgeon family was the perfect session to “begin again!”

Katie and I have formed a friendship through, of all places, Instagram. Though we both grew up in Columbus and knew of each other, it wasn’t until recently that we bonded over motherhood– specifically adoption– and raising 4 littles.

Katie is one of those people who is just as nice as she seems on Instagram. Sounds silly, but that’s so hard to find! She’s thoughtful, kind, and an exceptional mama.

Alex, too, could not have been nicer! It can be tough for dads to enjoy family photos (and I get it, I do!) but Alex was such a joy to be around and it’s so clear that his kids adore him, and vice versa.

Sturgeon family, I just love y’all! Let’s make this a yearly event!
