In my former life, when I worked for a healthcare system, there were two people who kept me sane. Meg was one of them. Meg is a certified Child Life Specialist (read: she’s a super hero) and is one of the kindest, funniest, most compassionate and blunt (in the BEST way) people I’ve ever met. Naturally, as twenty-somethings, our conversations frequently turned to the subject of relationships. Enter Brett. Hysterically funny, ridiculously handsome, considerate, polite, AND he fights for our country… the guy is the total package.
As months went by, I watched their relationship grow and become more and more serious. I watched Meg handle Brett’s deployment to Afghanistan with the grace and calm and patience of super woman, and I watched the way that Brett loved and adored and cared for her even while halfway across the world (you guys- he hid presents in her apartment for her while he was away. HE IS PERFECT.)
The day Meg texted me a picture of her engagement ring, I burst into happy tears in the middle of Target. Tootally freaked an elderly man out, but hey…
Fast forward a few short months later, and these two are MARRIED! After a beautiful and intimate ceremony at Birmingham UMC in Alpharetta, we danced the night away at The Gardens at Great Oaks– a beautiful reception site not far away. Everything about the day was perfect. Meg’s dress, her birdcage veil, the vintage fur shawl her sister bought her, her TOMS shoes, wildflower bouquet– I could go on forever. Not to mention their awesome and hysterically funny bridal party. Those folks are a HOOT.
Moral of the story, I couldn’t have been more honored to shoot this wedding and blessed to know these two. I love y’all and I wish you both a lifetime of bliss!
