Laura + Tyler’s Rivermill Event Center wedding and Big Eddy Club reception was, hands down, one of my favorite wedding days of all time.
To say that these two are overwhelmingly loved and respected would be an understatement. Though I grew up with Laura and all of the Butler girls (who are all equally beautiful, kind, and loving), I didn’t meet Tyler until their engagement session in Charlotte. In an instant, I knew that he was a truly wonderful person and that they were meant to be together.
I mean it when I say that I have never attended such an emotional rehearsal dinner. Countless friends and family members stood up to tell the room just how much these two meant to them – which is, as it turns out, an awful lot. Not a dry eye was in the house as friends spoke of the impact that Laura and Tyler, both individually and together, have had such an enormous impact on their lives and their faith. I teared up roughly 500 times.
So much love and joy filled their entire weekend!
Laura and her bridesmaids got ready at the Rivermill Event Center, where the garden ceremony would take place. They spent the whole morning laughing and talking about how much they loved her. Right after Laura’s sweet mama buttoned her into her dress, Laura’s bridesmaids prayed over her in one of my favorite moments of the day – but that certainly wouldn’t be the first time that everyone cried!
Tyler’s reaction to seeing his bride was one of the most beautiful wedding moments I’ve ever seen. His love, adoration, and respect for her were so apparent for her – and the two exchanged sweet letters shortly after.
The two said their vows in front of the Rivermill ruins, draped with cloth and decorated with a cross, and some of my favorite songs were played during their ceremony. Laura carried what might be one of my favorite bouquets of all time – a colorful, bright arrangement of garden roses, greenery, and protea – Glenn Albright absolutely knocked that one out of the PARK!
The Big Eddy Club reception is where the party started – and y’all, I have NEVER seen the Big Eddy look so incredible! Bob Vardaman’s vision truly transformed the space with draping, floral chandeliers, and gobo lighting. A beautiful tent with a circular bar sat on the lawn. Guests sipped signature cocktails and enjoyed a charcuterie table before the bride and groom were introduced to get the party started.
If you are a wedding band connoisseur, you know that Big Blast and the Party Masters are truly one-of-a-kind, and the dance floor was full the ENTIRE night. Laura + Tyler cut their cakes and drank champagne from a loving cup that has been in Laura’s family for decades – just one of the sweet, sentimental touches that I loved.
They ran through friends + family throwing lavender, along with a STUNNING fireworks show, before riding off to their honeymoon.
Laura + Tyler, I truly can’t thank you enough for including me in such a wonderful, joyful day. There is no doubt in my mind that the Lord has brought you two together, and I am so excited to see your marriage unfold! Cheers to a lifetime of bliss!
