Katherine + Alex // Atlanta Wedding Photographer // Elegant Backyard Wedding

If you know me, you know that Father of the Bride is, hands down, no question, one of my top 5 favorite movies. I think it planted in every little girl a subconscious desire to get married at home – a dream that became a reality for Katherine. And, after seeing just how beautiful this Southern soiree was, you’ll agree that having an at-home wedding was a fantastic idea for her + Alex.

Strangely enough, Katherine + Alex first met in middle school, while Katherine was “dating” one of Alex’s friends. The relationship was short lived (they were 12, after all) and Katherine + Alex didn’t see much of each other until accounting class during their junior year at Georgia. What began as a casual friendship eventually turned into something more, and through stints in Athens, New York, and Chicago, they married at home in Atlanta. How perfect is that?

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that we were all a little paranoid about the weather leading up to the big day – Hurricane Irma had bouldered through just a few days before, and the forecast teetered back and forth between rain and clouds. The day of, though, couldn’t have been more perfect. I honestly couldn’t believe our good luck!

Katherine + Alex were married under a dogwood arbor adorned with greenery, hydrangeas, and roses, with a dear family friend officiating.

Their reception truly blew me away – a beautiful sailcloth tent covered farm tables draped with greenery and flowers, sprigs of lavender were folded into each napkin, and the most convincing (and delicious) Uga groom’s cake made this evening one for the books. The vendor team (found below) truly knocked this one out of the park!

Katherine + Alex, thank you so much for inviting me to document such an incredible day. Cheers to a lifetime of bliss!
