I really couldn’t have asked for a better way to close out 2017 than Sarah + Matt’s Crooked Oaks Farm Wedding just outside of Auburn (it’s Pat Dye’s farm!) Truly, it was one of my favorite weddings of the year – and Sarah and Matt had so much to do with that! These two have been a joy to work with from the very start (click here to view their engagement session.)

It all started in Auburn’s ticket office in 2013, where both Sarah and Matt were working. Sarah had recently moved to Auburn from Texas so that she could begin her master’s program without knowing anyone – just one testament to how amazing she is.  Working overtime (getting ready for the National Championship!) led the two to spend more time together, and it didn’t take long before they fell for each other.

Their relationship and love for each other is one of the sweetest I’ve ever seen. Their respect, commitment, and genuine affection for the other is a model of what all marriages should be built on, and there is no doubt in my mind that this is the beginning of a truly beautiful life together.

I loved that they incorporated so many personal and sentimental details into their wedding day – from wearing cowboy boots, to the incredible necklace Matt gave Sarah (featuring a diamond from her grandmother’s wedding ring) – the bottle of PAPPY VAN WINKLE that Sarah gave Matt, and their wedding favors (luggage tags as homage to their love of travel) – it was all so personal and special. One of my favorite touches, though, was their snow machine exit. Matt proposed to Sarah on one of their annual ski trips using lights in the snow, so what better way to leave for their honeymoon than to run through a sea of friends and family while “snow” fell?

The vendor team that Sarah put together (see below!) truly knocked this day out of the park. It was an honor to work with each one of them. Sarah and Matt, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your day. Cheers to a lifetime of bliss!
