Anna + Nick // Elegant Southern Wedding in Columbus, Georgia

There’s no telling when I first met Anna and the Varner girls, but I can tell you that it was a loooong, long time ago. Anna and her four sisters are somewhat legendary in the sense that they are all A.) beautiful B.) insanely talented in so many different ways C.) incredibly kind and D.) carrying along the line (so far) of fabulous, strong females. It helps that they were raised by amazing parents, too.

Anna and Nick met in Columbus among mutual friends. I hear there was a panda head and karaoke involved, and I feel like that’s all you need for the basis of a solid relationship, amiright? Anna was living in Atlanta at the time, and Nick in Columbus, but it didn’t take long for the two of them to realize that they were meant to be together. Anna moved back to her hometown and, not much longer, they were engaged! I truly mean it when I say that they are the perfect balance for each other – watching them together is a sight to see!

Really and truly, their wedding left me speechless. If you know me, you know that I love details (especially sentimental ones!) and this wedding was chock full of them. For starters, Anna was the fourteenth woman (!!) to wear her ceremony dress. It’s hard to believe, too, because it looks like it was made for her. She also carried her late grandmother’s handkerchief and wore her necklace. As I mentioned before, Anna is the youngest of five girls, and what a better way to distinguish them among her bridesmaids than to give their dresses a little extra pop? I LOVED the floral watercolor design at the bottom of their Alfred Sung dresses – unique and so, so elegant. After the ceremony, Anna changed into a beautiful BHLDN dress for the reception.

A few more of my favorite details? Nick’s reaction to seeing her for the first time (and his tears as she walked down the aisle!), the beautiful home of Anna’s cousin, where the girls got ready (and where we took portraits), the boys’ white dinner jackets, the precious flower girls, the cigar bar at the reception, and watching the younger guests BREAK. IT. DOWN. on the dance floor. I was howling! I also loved how Anna and Nick brought back the traditional “going away” outfit – Anna in a hot pink dress with fringe, and Nick in a blue sport coat. They ran through a shower of lavender before driving off in a red corvette. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Anna + Nick, thank you SO MUCH for inviting me to be a part of your big day! Cheers to a lifetime of bliss!
