They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck. If that’s the case (and I think it is!), then Elizabeth + Wade are set for life. As soon as Elizabeth slipped into her dress, the bottom fell out. Even though her ceremony was set to be outdoors, she barely flinched. She was cool, calm, and collected –Â which, if you know Elizabeth, isn’t too surprising after all. I was in awe. We found a rain plan for her bridal portraits, but we didn’t need it for long. The megastorm passed quickly, however, and cooled off what would have been a VERY hot May day. Since she was little, Elizabeth has always wanted an outdoor ceremony, and that wish came true. Thank goodness, too, because their Rivermill Event Center wedding was beautiful!
There were so many things that were especially great about this day: the fact that Elizabeth’s sister, Landy, made Wade’s wedding band, the way that Wade lit up when he saw Elizabeth for the first time, the fact that these two never stop laughing while around each other, how everyone around me during the ceremony was tearing up, the incredible floral arch that they were married, under, and the EDISON BULBS suspended above the dance floor at the reception – just to name a few! One of my all-time favorite wedding bands, Bobby and the Aristocats, brought the party and I haven’t seen moves like that in a looooong time. It really was the best day.
Elizabeth and Wade, to say I’m happy for you two (and Piper!) is an understatement. Thank you, thank you, for allowing me to document your day — cheers to a lifetime of bliss, because you deserve it!
