Mary Helen + William’s wedding in Madison, Georgia was truly fantastic. I don’t think there was a moment during the whole day when everyone involved didn’t have a smile on their face. Mary Helen got ready in her childhood bedroom, upstairs in her family’s beautiful home, which looks like it has been ripped straight out of Southern Living. Mary Helen wore two dresses– the first, a beautifully beaded BHLDN dress (her “party” dress- for the reception) and the second, a true family heirloom- worn by her grandmother, her mother, and her sister (6 women in total) – with a veil and tiara that truly made her a queen. William and each of his ushers wore Brackish bow ties (my absolute FAVORITE!) – bowties made of various birds’ feathers.

Mary Helen and William had their first look in her parents’ back yard– a photographer’s dreamland. We even managed to coax their friend’s horse into a few photos!

Both Mary Helen and William forewent the traditional bridal party and instead asked only their siblings – Mary Helen’s sister and William’s twin brother – as well as William’s dad – to join them up on the altar as they said their vows. They did, though, invite a group of close friends to sit on the front row. They were married by candlelight in front of the same cross as her mother and sister – a truly special family tradition.

Their reception took place in the truly transformed Madison-Morgan Cultural Center– its normally bare walls draped with fabric and added carpet underfoot. A large chandelier draped with greenery hung above the middle of the room. Kudos to No Regrets Events, Crush Events, and Le Petit Jardin by Zeb Grant for making it all happen!

Guests danced the night away to one of THE best wedding bands I’ve ever seen, before ending the night with fried chicken sandwiches and bidding farewell to the bride and groom as they ran down a tunnel of wedding wands.
