Mr. + Mrs. Caldwell // Auburn, Alabama Wedding Photographer

Ladies and Gentlemen, prepare yourselves for one of the most awesome and unique weddings of all time. The minute I first spoke with Ashley about photographing her + Doug’s wedding, I knew it would be amazing. Ash is an incredibly talented jewelery designer and owner of ash etc. She’s also crazy gorgeous, creative, and has amazing taste. Doug, not surprisingly, is one of the kindest humans I’ve ever met, super handsome, and works at The Locker Room (read: he, too, has incredible taste). Of course it would be a perfect day!

Ashley + Doug are nothing short of perfect for each other. They are crazy about each other, never stop laughing, and, as you’ll see below– they love Auburn Football. Truly, a match made in Heaven.

Ashley redesigned her mother’s wedding dress that she wore 28 years ago, and let me tell you… it was PERFECT. She paired it with white Frye booties and a Justin + Taylor necklace (which she turned into an incredible hairpiece), and amazing family jewelry. As if that wasn’t awesome enough, she also designed her bridesmaid skirts– using lace that she found overseas, hand-stitched on the bottom by her mom and her friends. Not enough incredible for you? She also designed her bridesmaids’ and flower girl’s jewelery. Y’ALL.

Did I mention they shared the same wedding date as Ashley’s parents and Doug’s great grandparents. Yep. Amazing.

I’d never shot a wedding at Water Oak Manor, but here’s to hoping this was the first of many. Every corner of the property was so unique and well-planned that I was truly in awe. Susan, the home’s owner, is nothing short of amazing.

More than anything, though, the best part of the day was seeing Ashley + Doug together. There was hardly a moment went they weren’t laughing together, or that Doug couldn’t stop staring at his beautiful bride, or that the two weren’t surrounded by people who love them dearly. (Although, I will say, driving by Toomer’s Corner after a BIG, last-minute win in a vintage car was a close second!)

Ashley + Doug, you two are the best. Here’s to a lifetime of bliss!
